Football Helmet Sticker Game via PlayDrMom
This is a great way to work on numbers and counting with your child. Depending on how far along they are you choose how many helmets to print out.
- Print out as many helmets as you need provided by Free Kids Crafts.
- Number them each helmet with the numbers 1-10, 1-20, or 1-30 etc. Again this depends on how many numbers your child has mastered.
- Taking one helmet at a time sit with your child and have them identify the written number.
- Now have your child place the correct number of star stickers on the helmet.
- Repeat steps 3 an 4 until you and your child have completed all the helmets.
Paper Football via PlayWorks.org
Materials
- A few sheets of paper. Xerox paper will do just fine.
- Fold paper into three equal parts the long way.
- Fold the bottom edge of the paper up to a side edge forming a triangle.
- Continue folding triangles until a small flap is left.
- Fold the flap into the triangle. You have now made your football.
Rules of the Game
- Paper football is played with two people on a long rectangle table.
- Each player gets four tries to slide the football across the table and score. A player scores a touchdown by getting the football to sit partially on and partially off the end of the table.
- If a player scores, they get one attempt to “punt” the football through their opponent’s fingers (by making an L with their index finger and thumb on each hand and joining them together to make a goal post).
- You can choose to apply the rules of football as far a points for scoring and quarters.
We hope these activities get your family excited about the big game this weekend. These activities are the perfect combination of learning and fun! Try them out and let us know how it goes.
Have a bee-utiful weekend!
